Same-Sex Marriage
The Texas Freedom Network affirms the dignity of all families and
supports legislation that truly helps them. Unnecessary and divisive
efforts to “define” marriage in the Texas Constitution divert attention
from issues critical to working families and their children.

Adoption and Foster Care
The best interests of children are served when they are provided
homes that are safe and stable with loving parents. Efforts to limit
adoption and foster care to heterosexual parents ignores the best
interests of our children in order to promote personal bias and codify
it into state law.

Hate Crimes
Hate crimes target innocent victims simply because of the color of
their skin, their religious views, their ethnic origin or the sex of the
person they love. Such crimes foster anxiety and mistrust and bring
fear to whole neighborhoods, communities and towns. The Texas Freedom
Network proudly worked in 2001 for the successful passage of a strong
state law that increased penalties for hate crimes.
