Texas Freedom Network Staff
President/Executive Director Kathy Miller is the chief spokesperson for the organization in all public matters. She is responsible for the development, planning, staffing and implementation of all programs. Kathy became TFN President in January 2005. Kathy previously served as Deputy Director from 1996 to 2000 and on the TFN Education Fund Board of Directors. (Click here to see Kathy's bio.)
Deputy Director Ryan Valentine organizes clergy and people of faith to involve them in the political process. He also coordinates public forums to increase faith-based discussion of issues facing our communities, works to ensure that voices of mainstream religious people are represented in the media and directs key research projects.
Communications Director Dan Quinn works with the news media on TFN issues and manages the organization's research and public policy reports.
Development Director Rachel Glast oversees fundraising for TFN and the TFN Education Fund, including building on the organization’s major donor program, expanding the organization’s donor and membership base and obtaining foundation support.
Outreach/Field Director Val Benavidez heads up the organization’s outreach and field work. She is in charge of keeping the membership informed, active, and continually growing. She also coordinates work with ally organizations, and assists in making sure TFN members participate in all TFN legislative and non-legislative actions and functions.
Annual Fund Officer Laura Schroeder coordinates organizational fund raising, special events and other donor-related opportunities. Outreach Coordinator Judie Niskala coordinates TFN’s volunteer program, facilitates relationships with allied organizations and performs outreach on college campuses.
Youth Advocacy Coordinator Onnalita Maniccia recruits and trains youth advocates to educate peers, legislators, and elected officials to support responsible sexuality education in Texas public schools.
Office Administrator Sandra Calderon managers office operations, oversees vendor services and provides support for all TFN programs and operations.
